FACULTY OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

HO CHI MINH CITY UNIVERSITY OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE

Located in the heart of Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) is a public university under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Over the course of more than 45 years of development, HUIT has become one of the leading institutions in undergraduate and postgraduate education in Southern Vietnam and nationwide.

As an integral part of the university’s growth, the Faculty of Chemical Engineering is among the largest faculties at HUIT. Each year, nearly 300 graduates receive their Bachelor’s or Engineer’s degrees from the Faculty. Surveys show that over 95% of graduates in Chemical Engineering Technology and Materials Technology secure employment within six months after graduation. With modern lecture halls, well-equipped laboratories, a comprehensive library system, a large-scale sports complex, and a wide network of industrial partners, alongside a team of highly qualified lecturers—including 5 Associate Professors, 23 PhDs and 17 MScs - The Faculty is well-positioned to meet the evolving demands of industry and society.

Many alumni have successfully started their own businesses and become reputable entrepreneurs. Others have pursued postgraduate studies and research both locally and internationally, becoming accomplished scientists.
The Faculty continually updates and improves its curricula to align with international standards. In 2021, the Chemical Engineering Technology program (bachelor level) was officially accredited by the AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance).

Currently, the Faculty offers two undergraduate programs:

1. Chemical Engineering Technology

- Cosmetic Chemistry

- Organic Technology

 - Process Equipment and Petrochemicals Engineering

 - Inorganic Technology - Silicates

 - Analytical Techniques and Quality Assurance

- Plastics and Polymer Technology

2. Materials Technology

Graduate and Postgraduate Programs

Since 2017, the Faculty has been offering Master’s programs, structured along two directions:
- Research-oriented: for those pursuing academic and scientific careers.
- Practice-oriented: for professionals working in industry.
In 2023, the Faculty launched a Ph.D. program in Chemical Engineering.
